To reach the coffee regions of Loja and Zamora on Ecuador’s southern border with Peru visitors will travel straight across the central part of the Andes Mountain range, climbing to over 4,000 meters altitude and cutting right through pristine arid plains of alpine beauty, before descending down into the lush, green and fertile valley which is home to the country’s best coffee beans. One might be fortunate enough to see one of the rare Condors that are still roaming this part of the Andean region.
