As Rwanda struggled to get back on its feet after the genocide the coffee sector quickly became a central focal point for economic attention. And with that came admirable and brave initiatives as here at the Maraba cooperative in southern Butare province where local villagers joined forces to promote the efforts for reconciliation between genocide committers and genocide victims. The two groups continue to work side by side in the coffee business at the coop until this date.
